Who organized?
Andrew Baron

On Tuesday, April 15th from 6pm to 8pm sharp, we will meet at the *new* Rocketboom studio for presentations.

This month, Rocketboom will speak about their production process. From coming up with ideas, to reseaching, writing, shooting, editing, and publishing, the crew will explain how they put together their daily episodes. Everything from methods, to software to workflow and procedures will be shared.

Everyone that attends the meet-up is invited to give a 2min introduction, then we will hear from Rocketboom and then we can engage in discussion for the rest of the eve.

Please RSVP with number of guests - must be on the list to get up to the studio.

Cheers,
Andrew

    •  It was an extraordinary evening. Andrew showed how his small staff collected undiscovered stories on the internet, how he wrote the show script and simple techniques for holding it in large type above and below the camera so the moderator's eyes were looking directly at the camera during the shoot. It was interesting to hear someone with the Internet's most famous/successful independently-produced show say he usually uses just iMovie for editing. The audience was an eclectic mixture of Rocketboom fans, techies and beginning vloggers. The meeting was held in Rocketboom's new offices. Afterwards, people socialized at a nearby bar which was quiet & had "happy hour" affordable drinks for those who arrived and ordered before 8:00 pm. (You never saw so many drinks ordered between 7:55 and 8:00 :-) ). Twice in the past few months, conflicts with scheduling at the old meeting studio, caused the meeting to be turned into a social at a near-by bar. The new set-up is much better.
    •  Great Presentation. Very Informative. Detailed. Some Good Practical Advice.
    •  It is not clear to me what the goals and objectives of this meetup are or how it is useful to video bloggers. I can't say that I learned anything by attending this meeting that would help me with the creation, production, distribution or promotion of my videos. Nor does there seem to be any reason to believe this will be taking place in the future.
